Office Aircon Servicing in Singapore

I worked in a multi-national company in Singapore and thus, there are no fixed hours as such. We are just tasked to get our project done and sometimes went into tele-conference with our US counterpart. As a result, I spent most of my time working in office. One afternoon, the office air conditioning stopped cooling. Our office room became stuffy and there were no air flow. We could not concentrate on our work. We could felt the heat built up in the office very quickly. Everybody started to walk out of their rooms and cubicles. We immediately contacted the service center which we had an annual contract with them. To our surprise, they replied that they cannot send anybody within 4-5 hours. Soon the whole office area started to suffocate with many people inside.

Without the office aircon, some people took initiative to open the windows and the front door. It only helped a little due to most windows are in the smaller office and cannot reached the cubicle area in the center of the office area. Some tried to check on the air conditioners with the remote control, but all did not respond. Some went to check on the breakers, but everything seems fine as there are still power and lights are still working. We came to a point of ‘What’s next?’ Then someone suggested to google for another aircon servicing company to see if they can help. We called upon this aircon servicing company and they said they could come.

Within an hours they arrived and went straight to the aircon compressors. They quickly found out that the power cord to the compressor were broken and get it changed out swiftly. It took less than 30 minutes. During this period, the air conditioning specialists not only repair the cable, but went through a round of checks on the office aircon system before they turning them back on. Everyone was cheering in the office and then headed back to work.

A manager went to find out more detail about the failure from the aircon expert. Apparently, they said something heavy stepped on the cable but did not cut it off immediately. The cable sheared off itself later after having poor connectivity. They show the manager the sheared off cable.
