Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning Repair

HVAC unit is a true blessing to life if you maintain the HVAC unit properly. Your HVAC unit may not run efficiently due to multitude of factors. Some issues seem to pop up a little more often than the others. It is inevitable to have good understanding of both HVAC unit and common issues that can result in HVAC break down to reap maximum benefit from the system.

HVAC stands for heating, ventilation and air conditioning. HVAC system design is a sub discipline of mechanical engineering, grounded on the theories of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer. Ventilation is the process of exchanging air to offer improved indoor air quality, which encompasses temperature regulation, renewal of oxygen levels, and taking away of dampness, bad smells, bacteria etc.

Common HVAC issues

1. Broken Thermostat
Broken thermostat is one of the main culprits of HVAC issues. It caused temperature control issues. The good news is that broken thermostat can be fixed very easily and at affordable rates.

2. Dirty Filter
Filters need to be cleaned every month to make sure that your HVAC unit works perfectly. If a filter is dirty and clogged, the aircon unit has to work harder to get to the cooling temperature. This implies that you could foresee a steep rise in your electricity bills.

3. Improperly Balanced Dampers
Air that emanates from your aircon vent need to travel through a string of ducts. Most of the supply lines would have a damper, which is designed to reduce airflow. If you feel that some of the rooms are heated or cooled faster compared to other rooms, it may be caused by the dampers. If damper is balanced properly, it will help you to get adequate amount of air in all rooms.

4. Breaker Tripped
If the furnace or condenser is not very responsive, tripped breaker may be the reason. If breaker trips too often, you may need to get in touch with a professionally qualified technician to fix the issue.

5. Clogged Drain Line
Drain line in HVAC unit is responsible to drain water away from the HVAC system. Drain lines can accumulate dust and algae, which could render leaking problem when it eventually clogged.

6. Burned Capacitors
Burned or deformed capacitors is another reason for HVAC failure. HVAC system will not be capable to operate properly with a failed capacitor.

7. Gas Valves
Gas valve is the solenoid valve that controls the gas circulating within the aircon system. If there is corrosion around the gas valve, it may result in HVAC failure, which require gas valve replacement.

8. Refrigerant Leaks

If there are leaks in refrigerant or air con gas, your aircon unit will not be able to deliver the same cooling efficiency as before. A qualified HVAC expert will be able to spot leaks along the refrigerant line and helps to repair it.

If your HVAC system is not working properly as it did before, you might want to get in touch with our aircon doctor to fix it.
